Financial Controller - Redditch

Greenwell Gleeson are recruiting for an experienced Financial Controller to join an established and growing business based in Redditch.

This is an excellent opportunity for a technically strong, commercially minded finance professional to take ownership of financial reporting across a multi-entity organisation, lead a team of qualified accountants and play a key role in developing financial systems and processes.

The successful candidate will be a fully qualified accountant with 15 years' experience and extensive expertise in group reporting, consolidations, inventory valuation and ERP systems.

Key Responsibilities

Manage monthly, quarterly and annual financial reporting across multiple entities.

Oversee group consolidations, intercompany accounting and balance sheet reconciliations.

Take responsibility for inventory valuation, stock accounting and financial controls.

Lead, manage and develop a team of qualified finance professionals.

Drive ERP system design, development and implementation to improve financial reporting and operational efficiency.

Oversee budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management and financial planning.

Ensure accurate statutory reporting and compliance with relevant accounting standards.

Strengthen internal controls, financial governance and reporting processes.

Work closely with senior management, providing commercial insight and financial analysis to support business decisions.

Manage relationships with external auditors, tax advisers and other stakeholders.

Identify opportunities for process improvement and automation across the finance function.

The Ideal Candidate

Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA).

15 years' experience in accounting and finance, including significant financial management responsibility.

Strong technical background in financial reporting, group accounting and multi-entity consolidations.

Extensive knowledge of inventory valuation, stock accounting and associated controls.

Proven experience in ERP system design, implementation or development.

Experience managing and developing teams of qualified accountants.

Strong understanding of statutory reporting, financial controls and accounting standards.

Advanced Excel skills and excellent financial systems knowledge.

Commercially astute, with the confidence to work closely with senior stakeholders.

Proactive, hands-on approach with excellent leadership and communication skills.

Experience within manufacturing, distribution or an inventory-intensive environment would be particularly advantageous.
