The Opportunity Put your machinery controls experience to work on projects that improve equipment safety, with the opportunity to develop into safety-related control system design. Apex M&E Solutions is recruiting an Electrical Installation Engineer for a specialist business delivering machinery safety upgrades and installation projects. You’ll combine control panel work with installation, testing and commissioning at customer sites. This role suits an engineer who enjoys practical problem-solving, takes pride in accurate workmanship and is comfortable working directly with customers. The role * Build, wire, test and quality-check control panels. * Install and modify machinery electrical control systems and safety devices. * Carry out commissioning, fault-finding and functional testing. * Provide technical support and maintain accurate installation and test records. * Work with colleagues and customers to deliver projects safely and efficiently. What you’ll bring * A recognised electrical engineering qualification, such as City & Guilds, HND or a degree. * Practical experience with machinery control systems, low-voltage circuits and control panels. * Confidence reading and interpreting electrical schematics. * Experience in machinery installation, testing, commissioning and fault-finding. * Good communication skills and the ability to work independently. Travel and overnight stays are essential. Machinery safety experience would be an advantage, alongside knowledge of AutoCAD, SEE Electrical, SISTEMA or PAScal. A Functional Safety Engineer qualification would also be beneficial. What’s on offer * £42,000–£50,000 salary, plus overtime. * 7% employer pension contribution. * 25 days’ annual leave plus bank holidays. * Additional Christmas shutdown without using your annual leave allowance. Following successful completion of a three-month probation, you’ll receive access to a company vehicle, with the potential for a dedicated vehicle or car allowance, plus a laptop, mobile phone and business expenses credit card. There is also an opportunity to progress into the design and specification of safety-related control system upgrades, supporting machinery compliance with PUWER and relevant British and European standards.
