Hays Education are working in partnership with a welcoming and supportive primary school seeking an enthusiastic Early Years Teaching Assistant to join their EYFS team. The school prides itself on providing a nurturing and stimulating learning environment where children are encouraged to develop confidence, curiosity, and a love of learning from an early age.

Your new role

As an Early Years Teaching Assistant, you will support the class teacher in delivering engaging and creative learning experiences for children within the Early Years Foundation Stage. You will work closely with pupils both individually and in small groups, helping to support their educational, social, and emotional development.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Supporting children's learning through play-based activities.
• Assisting with the delivery of planned lessons and interventions.
• Encouraging positive behaviour and promoting a safe learning environment.
• Supporting children's communication, language, literacy and numeracy development.
• Monitoring pupil progress and providing feedback to the class teacher.
• Assisting with classroom preparation and maintaining engaging learning environments.
• Building positive relationships with pupils, staff and parents.

What you'll need to succeed

To be successful in this role, you will:

• Have recent experience working with children within an EYFS setting.
• Hold a relevant Teaching Assistant or Childcare qualification (Level 2 or Level 3 desirable).
• Have a good understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage framework.
• Demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Be patient, caring and passionate about supporting young children's development.
• Be able to work effectively as part of a team.
• Hold an enhanced DBS on the update service or be willing to obtain one through Hays.
