A well-established and growing distribution business is seeking an experienced FLT Trainer to support the ongoing development, compliance and safety of its warehouse operation.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced FLT Operator, Team Leader or Warehouse Supervisor looking to move into a training-focused role. Whilst an RTITB Instructor qualification would be advantageous, it is not essential. Full training can be provided for individuals with strong FLT experience and the right attitude, communication skills and personality.

The Role

Working closely with Operations and Health & Safety teams, you will play a key role in ensuring colleagues are trained, competent and working safely across the warehouse.

Key responsibilities include:

• Delivering MHE and FLT training and assessments.
• Supporting induction programmes for new starters.
• Providing refresher training and monitoring competency levels.
• Promoting safe working practices throughout the warehouse operation.
• Maintaining accurate training records and compliance documentation.
• Supporting manual handling and health & safety initiatives.
• Conducting routine checks on site safety equipment.
• Assisting with investigations and compliance-related administration when required.
• Coaching and developing warehouse colleagues.
• Identifying training needs and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.

About You

We're looking for someone who can build credibility on the warehouse floor and communicate effectively with a variety of personalities.

You will ideally have:

• Experience operating Fork Lift Trucks within a warehouse environment.
• Experience using at least two of the following:
  • Counterbalance
  • Reach Truck
  • Bendi/Flexi Truck
• Previous experience training, coaching, mentoring or supporting colleagues.
• Strong communication and organisational skills.
• Good knowledge of warehouse health & safety practices.
• Confidence to challenge unsafe behaviours and uphold standards.
• A resilient, down-to-earth approach with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Desirable

• RTITB Instructor Qualification.
• Other recognised MHE Instructor accreditations.
• Previous experience delivering formal warehouse or MHE training.
