Project Quantity Surveyor - Tower Hamlets
A growing London main contractor needs a Project Quantity Surveyor on a six-month contract to complete procurement on a multi-storey residential scheme in East London.
The project is a higher-risk building under the Building Safety Act and part of the Gateway 2 regime, so procurement has to be thorough, well documented and aligned with the approved design.
This role is for a QS who's happy to roll their sleeves up. The main job is the hands-on work of getting every remaining package procured, agreed and signed off, so the project team can focus on delivery. You'll be based on site in Tower Hamlets, with one day a week from home.
The Role
As Project Quantity Surveyor, you'll take ownership of procurement on the project, working closely with the site team and reporting to senior commercial management.
Key responsibilities will include:
Finishing all outstanding procurement for the project
Preparing tender packages, issuing enquiries and chasing returns
Tender analysis, levelling and recommendations
Negotiating with subcontractors and preparing subcontract orders
Making sure package scopes match the approved Gateway 2 design and building safety requirements
Collecting the product and specification information needed for the building's golden thread record
Tracking procurement against the programme and budget, and flagging risk early
Supporting valuations, variations and cost reporting where needed
Handing over a fully procured, well-documented project at the end of the contract The Project
