CNC Millers – Programmer Setter Operators & Setter Operators Weekend Shift | Flexible Days & Hours | Excellent Rates of Pay DOE Portsmouth Actio Recruitment are recruiting on behalf of a highly respected precision engineering company in Portsmouth. Due to continued growth, we are looking for experienced CNC Millers to join the team in either: * Programmer Setter Operator positions * Setter Operator positions This is an excellent opportunity to join a stable and well-established manufacturer producing precision-machined components to exacting standards for a variety of high-specification industries. The Role As a CNC Miller, you will be responsible for setting and operating CNC milling machines, with Programmer Setter Operators also creating and editing programs directly at the machine. Duties will include: * Setting and operating CNC milling machines * Working from detailed engineering drawings * Producing precision components to tight tolerances * Conducting first-off and in-process inspections * Making tooling and offset adjustments as required * Maintaining high standards of quality and housekeeping * Ensuring production targets are achieved safely and efficiently Programmer Setter Operators In addition to the above, you will: * Create, edit and optimise CNC programs with Heidenhain controls * Select appropriate tooling and machining strategies * Support continuous improvement of machining processes * Reduce cycle times while maintaining quality standards Requirements * Previous experience as a CNC Miller within a precision engineering environment * Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings * Experience setting and operating CNC milling machines * Strong understanding of tolerances and quality requirements * Ability to use inspection equipment such as verniers, micrometers and gauges * Self-motivated with excellent attention to detail Working Hours Weekend Shift The company offers a highly flexible approach to weekend working, with various shift patterns available.
