HGV Class 1 Driver – Hazardous Waste Location: Bootle, Merseyside Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent Hours: Minimum 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday + Overtime We are currently recruiting for an experienced HGV Class 1 Driver to join a well-established and growing company specialising in hazardous waste management and recycling, based in Bootle earning a base rate of £17.00 per hour with free training to obtain your ADR starting within 90 days of starting. This is an excellent opportunity for a professional Class 1 Driver looking for a permanent position with opportunities for overtime and additional earnings. Key Responsibilities * Transporting and collecting hazardous and non-hazardous waste materials from various locations across the UK. * Ensuring full compliance with all relevant transport, environmental and health & safety regulations. * Completing daily vehicle walkaround checks, recording inspections and reporting defects. * Maintaining high standards of vehicle cleanliness and ensuring equipment is properly maintained. * Undertaking some manual handling and occasional yard duties when required. * Adhering to drivers' hours regulations and working time requirements. * Completing occasional nights out as required by operational demands. * Ensuring all work is carried out safely, professionally and efficiently. Requirements * Valid HGV Class 1 (Category C+E) licence. * Valid Driver CPC qualification. * Valid Digital Tachograph Card. * Good understanding of drivers' hours and transport legislation. * A professional attitude with a strong commitment to health and safety. * Flexibility to undertake occasional nights out and additional hours when required.
