Cover Supervisor - Secondary School

The Role

We are working in partnership with a secondary school in the Bradford area who are looking to appoint a confident and reliable Cover Supervisor to join their team on a full-time basis.

This is a great opportunity for someone looking to gain further experience within secondary education. The successful candidate will supervise classes during teacher absence, ensuring pupils remain focused, engaged and on task with work that has already been set.

The role would suit an experienced Cover Supervisor, graduate considering a career in teaching, or someone with strong experience working with young people.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise classes across KS3 and KS4 in the absence of the regular teacher
• Deliver pre-planned work across a range of subjects
• Manage classroom behaviour effectively and consistently
• Ensure pupils remain engaged and complete the work provided
• Follow the school's behaviour and safeguarding policies
• Provide feedback to teaching staff following lessons
• Support pupils with their learning where appropriate
• Build positive and professional relationships with pupils and staff

The Ideal Candidate

• Previous experience working with secondary-aged pupils is desirable
• Confident managing groups of young people
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Calm, resilient and able to manage challenging behaviour
• Reliable, professional and adaptable
• Graduates considering a future career in teaching are encouraged to apply
