Controls / Automation Engineer Birmingham | £50,000–£70,000 | Permanent | Days

We’re looking for a Controls / Automation Engineer to join a growing, highly automated manufacturing operation that has recently moved from NPI into high-volume production.

This is a fast-paced environment with extensive PLC, robotics, sensors, motion control, inspection and automated handling.

The Role You’ll be hands-on, supporting the equipment, resolving faults and driving continuous improvement.

You’ll work across:

• PLC programming, fault-finding & modifications
• HMI, sensors, servo and motion systems
• Robotics and automated equipment
• Commissioning and optimisation
• Root-cause analysis and continuous improvement
• Improving reliability, throughput and OEE

About You We’re open to experience across any major PLC platform, including Beckhoff, Siemens, Rockwell/Allen-Bradley or Mitsubishi.

You’ll need strong practical Controls / Automation experience and be comfortable getting into the PLC logic rather than simply identifying faults.

Experience in high-volume manufacturing, automotive, plastics or FMCG would be advantageous.
