About the Role
We are seeking an Industrial Engineer to join our team supporting Apache Phase Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) activities at Middle Wallop.
Reporting directly to the Production and Support Engineering Manager, you will apply core industrial engineering principles to improve efficiency, optimize workflows, and enhance operational performance in a highly regulated, mission-driven aerospace environment.
You will work closely with cross-functional teams-including Engineering, Production, Quality, and Operations-to ensure the safe, compliant, and efficient execution of critical defence work.
Key Responsibilities
Process & Workflow Optimization: Analyse production processes to identify opportunities for improvement in efficiency, flow, cost, and quality. Assist with time studies, process mapping, and standard work development.
Planning & Scheduling: Develop and maintain production schedules, generate Aurora models for schedule analysis, and build precedence networks to sequence work activities and evaluate dependencies.
Continuous Improvement: Evaluate data to identify bottlenecks, constraints, and root causes of inefficiencies. Lead and support lean process changes, work instructions, and operational enhancements.
Capacity & Resource Management: Support production planning, workload balancing, line flow analysis, and capacity assessments.
Facility & Tooling Support: Assist in developing layouts, tooling requirements, and facility optimization recommendations.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with engineering, operations, and quality teams to resolve process issues, support schedule adherence, and deliver data-driven reporting.
Basic Qualifications (Required)
Education: Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, or equivalent relevant qualification.
Experience:
Proven background in industrial engineering, manufacturing engineering, production support, or operations improvement.
Hands-on experience analysing complex processes, workflows, and production systems.
Practical experience developing precedence networks and production schedules.
Data-Driven: Demonstrated ability to leverage data to drive process improvements, planning, and decision-making.
Preferred Qualifications (Desired)
Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Value Stream Mapping (VSM), or continuous improvement frameworks.
Experience in dynamic aerospace production or MRO environments.
Hands-on experience with production planning, capacity analysis, and workload balancing.
Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Effective written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary teams.
