Accounts Assistant

Creative Agency | Central London | Hybrid (2 days in the office, 3 WFH)

We're partnering with a leading creative agency looking for an Accounts Assistant to join their close-knit finance team.

You'll have ownership of day-to-day financial transactions and support a Management Accountant in keeping month-end processes running smoothly.

This is a great opportunity for someone who wants to build a broad foundation in finance, understanding how a project-based business works and take on more responsibility over time.

As you get to know the business and develop your accounting skills, you'll have the opportunity to get hands-on with month-end processes, including reconciliations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Processing supplier invoices and maintaining supplier records
  • Processing employee expenses and company credit-card transactions
  • Coding transactions accurately, including VAT coding
  • Preparing supplier payment runs for review and approval
  • Supporting accounts receivable administration and credit control
  • Working with the Project & Management Accountant and client teams to resolve billing or transaction queries
  • Preparing routine bank and credit-card reconciliations for review
  • Helping prepare schedules and information for the month-end close
  • Investigating differences and following issues through to resolution

About You

  • You'll have a strong foundation of accounting knowledge, ideally gained from experience in a finance or accounts assistant role
  • Excellent attention to detail and numeracy
  • Curious and proactive, with a willingness to investigate discrepancies and help resolve issues.
  • Highly organised, with the ability to manage workloads and consistently meet deadlines.
  • Confident using Excel (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP, SUMIF) and accounting packages
  • Collaborative and confident dealing with finance / non-finance staff at all seniority levels

Benefits

  • Flexible working hours (9 - 5:30 with 10-4 core hours) and hybrid working (2 days in the office, 3 at home)
  • Up to 28 days’ holiday, plus bank holidays and a festive-season office closure
  • Life and health insurance, a workplace pension, discounted gym membership and a cycle-to-work scheme; enhanced family leave policies; and regular feedback, development conversations and opportunities to learn from colleagues across the business.
