Financial Accountant

6 Month Contract

Location: Dover

We are a Kent based engineering firm who are always looking for exceptional individuals to join our multinational group of talented professionals and right now we are seeking to recruit a motivated and talented Financial Accountant on a 6-Month Fixed-Term Contract.

In this role, you will play a key role in ensuring accurate financial reporting, maintaining robust financial controls and supporting statutory and group reporting requirements. Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will contribute to month-end activities, balance sheet integrity and continuous improvement within a fast-paced manufacturing environment, working collaboratively with stakeholders across the business.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly management accounts and supporting reconciliations, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
• Support month-end, quarter-end and year-end close activities, including the preparation and posting of journals, accruals and prepayments.
• Prepare and review balance sheet reconciliations, investigating and resolving discrepancies promptly.
• Support group reporting and the preparation of annual statutory accounts in accordance with UK GAAP/FRS 102.
• Assist with external audits, VAT returns and other regulatory reporting, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and internal policies.

Experience, Skills & Qualifications

• Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA).
• Strong technical accounting knowledge, with experience preparing financial statements and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet strict deadlines.
• A proactive, self-motivated and collaborative team player with strong communication skills, high professional integrity and a continuous improvement mindset.
