Hays Accountancy & Finance is delighted to be partnering with a leading and highly successful organisation in the County Down area as they appoint a Financial Accountant to their established finance team.

This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified accountant looking for a commercially focused role offering exposure to Board-level reporting, budgeting, forecasting and business improvement, alongside excellent flexibility and long-term career opportunities.

Your new role
Your responsibilities will include:

• Preparation of monthly management accounts
• Production of Board reporting packs
• KPI reporting, variance analysis and supporting commentary
• Annual budgeting and monthly forecasting
• Maintaining strong financial controls and reporting processes
• Preparation of the year-end audit file
• Liaising directly with external auditors
• Identifying and implementing finance process improvements
• Supporting the enhancement of financial reporting tools
• Supporting the training and development of colleagues within the finance team
• Working collaboratively with departments across the wider business
• Ad hoc financial analysis and projects

What you'll need to succeed
You will be a qualified accountant with strong industry experience and a proven background in management accounting and financial reporting.

You will ideally offer:

• Professional accounting qualification
• Strong industry accounting experience
• Excellent management accounts and reporting experience
• Strong budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis skills
• Experience working with ERP systems
• Advanced Excel skills
• Excellent attention to detail
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
• Ability to manage competing priorities and meet reporting deadlines

Experience using Microsoft Dynamics D365 and/or Power BI would be particularly advantageous.
