Reed Technology is supporting a company in Larbert to recruit a Service Desk Technician on a 12-month Fixed Term Contract.

In this role, you'll provide first and second-line IT support across a diverse technology environment, troubleshooting user issues, administering Microsoft technologies and devices, managing user accounts, and supporting technology deployments, service improvements, and project work.

Key responsibilities:

• Provide day-to-day IT support to employees across the business.
• Resolve issues relating to laptops, desktops, mobile devices, software, and user accounts.
• Set up, configure, and maintain Windows devices and business applications.
• Support Microsoft 365, Active Directory, and Entra ID environments.
• Manage new starter, leaver, and internal employee change requests.
• Assist with device deployments, upgrades, and replacement programmes.
• Troubleshoot connectivity issues including VPN, Wi-Fi, and network access problems.
• Log, update, and manage support tickets, ensuring excellent customer service throughout.
• Keep IT documentation, asset records, and knowledge articles up to date.
• Work closely with the wider IT team to escalate and resolve more complex issues.
• Take ownership of tasks and be a self-starter who can work independently when required.
• Identify ways to improve processes, increase efficiency, and enhance the overall user experience.

Skills and Experience

• Experience providing IT support in a Service Desk, Helpdesk, or Desktop Support environment.
• Good knowledge of Windows 11, Microsoft 365, Active Directory, and Entra ID.
• Experience setting up and supporting laptops, desktops, mobile devices, and peripherals.
• Ability to troubleshoot a wide range of hardware, software, and user issues.
• Understanding of VPN, DNS, DHCP, wireless networking, and general connectivity troubleshooting.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Able to manage workload effectively and prioritise competing tasks.
• A proactive approach with a willingness to take ownership and see issues through to resolution.
• Self-motivated, organised, and capable of working both independently and as part of a team.
• A continuous improvement mindset, always looking for opportunities to improve IT services and processes.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

What's on offer?

• Salary of up to £33,000.
• 12-month fixed-term contract.
• Primarily office-based role, working on-site Monday to Thursday.
• Hybrid working on Fridays, with a half-day schedule and a 12:30pm finish.
