Accounts Assistant – Invoice Processing

Location: South Normanton, Derbyshire

Contract: Temporary – Month-to-month rolling assignment

Salary: Competitive hourly rate (TBC)

Macildowie are working with an ever-expanding and exciting client based in South Normanton, Derbyshire, who operate within the logistics and distribution sector. They are looking to recruit an Accounts Assistant to support their busy finance team on an ongoing temporary basis.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with previous purchase ledger, accounts payable or invoice processing experience who enjoys working in a structured, process-driven environment.

The role will focus predominantly on reviewing, verifying and processing client-related invoices, ensuring information is accurate and correctly recorded.

Key Responsibilities:

• Reviewing and processing client invoices, ensuring accuracy before submission.

• Checking sales reports against invoice values to identify discrepancies.

• Selecting the correct vendors when processing invoices.

• Ensuring the correct sales month and payment dates are recorded.

• Manually inputting and verifying invoice information across client accounts.

• Investigating discrepancies and resolving invoice queries.

• Supporting the wider finance team with day-to-day transactional processing.

• Potentially assisting with raising ad hoc sales invoices once fully trained.

About You:

• Previous experience in an Accounts Assistant, Purchase Ledger, Accounts Payable or Finance Assistant role.

• Confident working with invoices and financial data.

• Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach.

• Comfortable completing manual, repetitive processing tasks accurately.

• Good organisational skills and the ability to manage workloads.

• A reliable, proactive approach and willingness to learn new processes.

• Available for temporary work and happy with a rolling month-to-month assignment.
