English Teacher Jobs - Wigan & Warrington

Tradewind Recruitment is currently recruiting English Teachers for a variety of opportunities across secondary schools in Wigan and Warrington.

Due to continued demand from our partner schools, we are looking to speak with qualified English Teachers and experienced secondary English specialists who are available for work during the current academic year.

These opportunities may include long-term placements, fixed-term contracts, maternity cover, permanent opportunities and ongoing supply work, depending on the requirements of our partner schools.

Whether you are an experienced English Teacher looking for your next long-term position, an ECT seeking your first opportunity or an experienced teacher interested in flexible supply work, we'd be keen to hear from you.

English Teaching Opportunities

Our partner schools require English Teachers who can confidently deliver engaging and appropriately challenging lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, with some opportunities potentially extending into Key Stage 5.

You may be responsible for:

• Planning and delivering high-quality English lessons
• Teaching English Language and Literature across KS3 and KS4
• Preparing pupils for GCSE examinations
• Differentiating lessons to meet a range of abilities
• Assessing pupil progress and providing constructive feedback
• Maintaining high expectations of behaviour and achievement
• Developing pupils' literacy, communication and analytical skills
• Working collaboratively with English departments and wider school teams

The Ideal English Teacher

We are interested in hearing from candidates who:

• Hold QTS or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification
• Have strong English subject knowledge
• Have experience teaching within a secondary school
• Can confidently teach KS3 and KS4 English
• Have excellent classroom management skills
• Build positive relationships with pupils
• Can adapt lessons to meet different learning needs
• Are passionate about improving pupil outcomes
