Interim Financial Accountant | Northamptonshire | £360–£420 per day
I'm currently recruiting for an Interim Financial Accountant to join a high-performance engineering and manufacturing business based in Northamptonshire.
This is an immediate-start opportunity running until the end of December 2026, with potential for extension. The role will suit a qualified accountant with strong financial accounting experience who can hit the ground running and support the finance team through a key year-end period.

Role: Interim Financial Accountant
Location: Northamptonshire
Rate: £360–£420 per day (Umbrella, inside IR35)
Start: Immediate
Contract: Until 31st December 2026, with potential extension
Key Responsibilities
Supporting month-end and year-end financial close processes.
Preparing and reviewing journals, accruals and prepayments.
Completing balance sheet reconciliations and investigating variances.
Supporting the preparation of year-end schedules and financial reporting.
Maintaining the accuracy and integrity of the general ledger.
Assisting with year-end audit preparation and responding to auditor queries.
Supporting financial controls and identifying opportunities to improve processes.
Working with the wider finance team to ensure deadlines are met and reporting is accurate.
Using the Epicor ERP system to support financial accounting and reporting activities.
About You
Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA).
Minimum of three years' post-qualified experience in a financial accounting role.
Strong technical accounting skills and a solid understanding of month-end and year-end processes.
Experience with balance sheet reconciliations, journals, accruals and prepayments.
ERP system experience; knowledge of Epicor would be advantageous or a similar ERP system.
A proactive, hands-on approach with excellent attention to detail.
Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and delivering to tight deadlines.
Available to start immediately.
