Fantastic opportunity for a qualified lawyer to join this fast-growing and exciting business on a permanent basis as Legal Counsel. This is a broad in-house role that will cover a variety of duties, so the hiring manager is relatively open to technical background.

Although largely commercial contracts focused, candidates from construction, property, finance etc. would be welcome to apply.

The Legal Counsel will be a key member of the Legal team, providing pragmatic, commercially focused legal support across the Group's UK and European operations. Reporting to the Senior Legal Counsel, the role will work closely with colleagues in Commercial, Procurement, Operations, Real Estate and Finance to support business growth, manage legal risk and enable the timely delivery of transactions and projects.

Key duties:

  • Draft, review and progress commercial agreements, including framework agreements, statements of work, purchase agreements, supply and services agreements, confidentiality agreements and other operational contracts
  • Support customer and supplier projects from initial instruction through negotiation, approval and execution, ensuring that material legal and commercial risks are identified, appropriately escalated and effectively managed
  • Support the Finance team with equity funding processes and intra-group fund movements, including coordinating corporate approvals, documentation, signatures, and closing steps

Previous experience/required skills:

  • Qualified lawyer with approximately 2-4 years' post-qualification experience, gained in private practice or in-house
  • Exposure to an international, fast-growing or multi-entity business would be advantageous; experience in digital infrastructure, technology, construction, energy or real estate is welcome but not essential
  • Experience drafting and reviewing commercial contracts and recognising when an issue requires escalation
  • Experience of agreements such as framework agreements, statements of work, purchase agreements, supply and services agreements and procurement documentation would be highly advantageous

Please note - the team are extremely supportive and can train people on all of the above if candidates are transferring from a different skill set or background.

Robert Walters Operations Limited is an employment business and employment agency and welcomes applications from all candidates
