  • Location: Rochdale, Greater Manchester

  • Authority: Rochdale Borough Council (Children's Services)

  • Pay Rate:£39.00 per hour (Umbrella)

  • Contract: Full-Time Locum Assignment

  • Working Pattern: Hybrid working arrangements

Are you a skilled Children's Social Worker who excels in fast-paced triage, multi-agency partner liaison, and strengths-based early intervention?

Rochdale Borough Council is recruiting an experienced Social Worker to join their Early Help and Safeguarding HUB (EHASH). Offering £39.00 per hour, this role puts you at the front door of Children's Social Care as a primary decision-maker, ensuring families receive the right support at the right time to avoid escalation to specialist services.

About the Role & Service Area:

EHASH social workers act as the first point of contact for all incoming safeguarding and support referrals across Rochdale. You will review multi-agency intelligence, offer expert direction on next steps, and deliver informal advice and coaching to multidisciplinary colleagues.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Front-Door Triage & Decision-Making: Review incoming contacts, analyze multi-agency information, and apply sound, proportionate thresholds regarding need and risk.

  • Partner Collaboration & Coaching: Support referring agencies through skilled conversations, offering direction, signposting, and informal advice/supervision across a multidisciplinary HUB.

  • Locality Liaison: Work closely with locality leads to identify community-based early help solutions and prevent unnecessary escalation to statutory services.

  • Creative Solution-Focused Practice: Think creatively and proportionately about how families can be supported through early help frameworks and local partner networks.

What We Are Looking For:
  • Qualifications & SWE: Recognised Social Work qualification and active registration with Social Work England (SWE).

  • Front-Door Expertise: Significant post-qualifying experience in Children's Statutory Services (specifically MASH, EHASH, Duty & Assessment, or Triage teams).

  • Threshold Mastery: Proven ability to make robust, proportionate decisions at pace while applying statutory risk frameworks.

  • Communication Skills: Excellent interpersonal skills with a coaching mindset to guide multi-agency partners effectively.

Why Apply?
  • Competitive Rate:£39.00 per hour.

  • High-Impact Front Door Role: Play a pivotal role in shaping early intervention and family support outcomes across Rochdale.

  • Supportive Environment: Work within a collaborative, solution-focused team.
