The Role

As HR Advisor, you will be the first point of contact for managers and employees across a variety of HR matters, providing practical and commercially focused advice while ensuring compliance with employment legislation and company policies.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing a wide range of employee relations cases including disciplinaries, grievances, absence management, performance management and investigations.
  • Providing expert guidance and support to managers on HR policies, procedures and best practice.
  • Reviewing, updating and writing HR policies and procedures to ensure legal compliance and operational effectiveness.
  • Maintaining accurate and confidential employee records and HR documentation.
  • Supporting HR projects and initiatives aimed at enhancing employee engagement and workplace culture.
  • Assisting with training and development activities, helping to build management capability across the business.
  • Monitoring HR trends and employment law updates, ensuring recommendations and practices remain current and compliant.
  • Supporting the wider employee lifecycle, including onboarding, employee development and retention initiatives.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Previous experience in a HR Advisor or similar generalist HR position.
  • Strong employee relations experience and confidence managing complex cases independently.
  • A solid understanding of UK employment law and HR best practice.
  • Experience reviewing, developing and implementing HR policies and procedures.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise a varied workload.
  • CIPD qualification, or working towards CIPD, would be advantageous.
  • A proactive approach and the confidence to thrive in a busy, fast-paced environment.

Salary & Benefits

  • Up to £35,000 per annum
  • Full-time permanent position.
  • Office-based role in Leyland.
  • Monday-Friday, 8:30am-4:30pm or 9am-5:00pm.
  • Opportunity to make a genuine impact within a supportive and growing business.
  • Varied and interesting role with significant employee relations exposure and policy development responsibilities.
