Legal Cashier

Stockport

£30,000 - £35,000

A law firm that's doing things differently.

Forget everything you think you know about working in a law firm.

The corporate atmosphere. The rigid hierarchy. The endless red tape. The feeling that everything needs three levels of approval before anything gets done.

This firm couldn't be further from that.

It's a modern, forward-thinking law firm that's challenging the perception of what working in the legal sector should look like.

Professional? Absolutely. Corporate and stuffy? Not a chance.

There's a refreshing lack of hierarchy, people are trusted to get on with their jobs and there's none of the unnecessary formality you might have experienced in more traditional legal practices.

And they're now looking for a Legal Cashier to join their finance team.

The role:

You'll be responsible for the day-to-day legal cashiering function, covering client and office accounts, reconciliations, payments, receipts and ensuring everything is compliant with SRA Accounts Rules.

You'll need a good understanding of legal accounting and the confidence to manage your workload without someone constantly looking over your shoulder.

It's a role where accuracy matters, but that doesn't mean working in an environment where every process is unnecessarily complicated.

They take compliance seriously. They just don't believe that has to come with a corporate culture.

Who they're looking for:

Someone with previous Legal Cashier experience who knows how a law firm's accounts function operates.

You'll understand client money, SRA compliance and the importance of getting the detail right.

But just as importantly, you'll enjoy working somewhere that's a little less traditional.

Somewhere you can have a laugh with your colleagues, speak openly with senior management and feel like part of a business rather than another employee in a rigid hierarchy.

Why consider it?

Because if you enjoy legal cashiering but you're tired of the culture that sometimes comes with working in a law firm, this could be exactly the change you're looking for.

Same profession. Same technical responsibilities. A completely different working environment.

If you've been considering a move but assumed every law firm would be much the same, I'd really encourage you to have a conversation with me about this one.
