Vehicle Technician

Location: Newbury, Berkshire

Basic Salary: £34,000–£38,000

Additional Earnings: £8,000+ earning potential, uncapped

Hours: Monday–Friday, 8:00am–5:00pm, with some flexibility around start and finish times

The Opportunity

Pembrook Resourcing is recruiting experienced Vehicle Technicians for an established dealership in Newbury.

This is an opportunity for a skilled Technician looking for a Monday–Friday working pattern, a competitive basic salary and the potential to earn significantly more through an uncapped bonus structure.

Ideally, you'll already hold a valid MOT Tester licence. However, we're also interested in speaking with experienced Technicians who are willing to become MOT qualified shortly after joining.

What's on offer:

  • £34,000–£38,000 basic salary, with flexibility for candidates bringing stronger experience.
  • £8,000+ additional earning potential through an uncapped bonus scheme, subject to performance.
  • Monday–Friday working hours, 8:00am–5:00pm.
  • Some flexibility around start and finish times.
  • Opportunity to gain your MOT Tester qualification if you don't already hold one.

The Role

As a Vehicle Technician, you'll be responsible for servicing, maintaining and repairing vehicles to a high standard.

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

  • Carrying out routine servicing, maintenance and mechanical repairs.
  • Diagnosing and resolving mechanical and electrical faults.
  • Completing vehicle inspections and identifying necessary repairs.
  • Carrying out MOT tests if appropriately qualified.
  • Ensuring work is completed safely and to the required standards.
  • Maintaining accurate records of completed work.

What We're Looking For

You'll need:

  • A Level 3 qualification in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair, or an equivalent recognised automotive qualification.
  • A full UK driving licence.
  • Previous hands-on experience working as a Vehicle Technician.
  • Strong mechanical knowledge and the ability to diagnose and repair vehicle faults.
  • Experience carrying out routine servicing, maintenance and repairs.
  • A willingness to gain your MOT Tester qualification promptly if you don't already hold one.

Ideally, you'll also have:

  • A valid MOT Tester licence.
  • Previous experience working within a franchised dealership environment.

An existing MOT licence would be an advantage, but it isn't essential if you're an experienced, qualified Technician prepared to work towards the qualification.
