Tax Manager Temp-Perm

Our client, a leading UK retail business, is seeking an experienced Tax Manager to join their Head Office team in Plymouth.

The Role

This is a key position responsible for overseeing tax compliance, risk management, and tax strategy across UK and Irish operations. You'll provide expert advice to support commercial decision-making, business growth, and strategic projects while ensuring compliance across all tax matters.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead Corporation Tax, VAT, and indirect tax compliance and reporting.
• Act as the main contact for HMRC, tax authorities, and external advisers.
• Provide tax support for acquisitions, restructures, and business expansion projects.
• Monitor tax legislation and ensure robust tax controls and governance.
• Advise senior stakeholders on tax risks, opportunities, and efficiencies.
• Support transfer pricing requirements and tax strategy development.

Key Requirements

• ACA, ACCA, CTA, or equivalent qualification.
• Strong experience in UK tax compliance and advisory work.
• Excellent knowledge of Corporation Tax, VAT, customs/import VAT, and employment taxes.
• Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Commercially minded with the ability to explain complex tax matters clearly.

Desirable

• Republic of Ireland tax experience.
• Experience within retail, e-commerce, or marketplace businesses.
• Exposure to acquisitions, integrations, and transfer pricing.
• Experience working within a large multi-entity organisation.

Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:45am – 5:30pm
