Our client is seeking a Senior Site Engineer to support ground investigation and geo-environmental projects across Durham, Glasgow, Manchester and wider UK locations. This is a permanent, full-time and entirely site-based role, focused on leading field operations and delivering site investigation contracts safely, efficiently and to a high standard. Key Responsibilities: Leading the delivery of ground investigation and site investigation projects across a range of sectors Managing day-to-day site operations, logistics, resources and project programmes Supervising Site Engineers, subcontractors and field teams Providing technical guidance and mentoring to junior engineers and graduates Monitoring productivity, quality, safety and compliance throughout site activities Acting as a professional site-based point of contact for clients, project managers and stakeholders Maintaining accurate site records and ensuring project information is kept up to date Identifying operational risks and implementing corrective actions to support successful project delivery Job Requirements: Significant experience in site investigation contracting, ground investigation or related field operations Background in geology, earth sciences, environmental science, geotechnical engineering or a related discipline Strong understanding of site investigation techniques and ground conditions Experience supervising site teams and coordinating field-based activities Ability to lead projects safely, efficiently and in line with specifications Strong communication, organisation and problem-solving skills Commercial awareness and understanding of contract delivery requirements Willingness to travel and work away from home across the UK when required Consultancy-only backgrounds will not be suitable, as this position requires practical site investigation contracting experience. The role is fully site-based and does not include office-based or report-writing duties.
