Business/Digital Skills Tutor- HMP Permanent Location: London Salary: From £35,000 per annum Are you an engaging educator with strong business or digital skills looking for a teaching role where your work genuinely changes lives? About the Role We are recruiting a Business/Digital Skills Tutor to join a training provider in the justice sector, delivering business and digital skills learning within a prison education setting. You'll teach small groups of adult learners with a wide range of educational backgrounds, learning needs and abilities, helping them build practical, work-ready skills that support progression into employment. Many of your learners will have had difficult experiences of education, so patience, empathy and a genuine belief in each individual's potential will matter as much as your subject knowledge. Your responsibilities will include: Planning and delivering engaging, inclusive business and digital skills sessions tailored to small groups of learners with varied abilities and backgrounds. Conducting initial assessments and diagnostics to establish learners' starting points, then setting up and maintaining Individual Learning Plans. Embedding literacy, numeracy and employability skills naturally into business and digital skills learning to support progression. Preparing learners for relevant qualifications and celebrating their achievements and personal development. Working closely with prison staff and the wider education team to ensure positive, holistic learner outcomes. What We're Looking For Essential: A relevant Level 3 qualification in Business or Digital Skills Experience delivering engaging teaching and learning to adult learners Strong communication and classroom management skills Resilience and professionalism to work effectively in a secure environment Desirable (but not essential): A Level 5 teaching qualification (PGCE, Cert Ed, DTLLS or equivalent), or willingness to work towards one Previous experience within prison education, FE or adult learning settings If you're ready to bring your business and digital skills expertise into a role that genuinely changes lives, we'd love to hear from you. Important Notice Dovetail and Slate is a specialist justice and rehabilitation recruitment company. If this role isn't quite right, we welcome your CV and a call to explore other opportunities.
