Quantity Surveyor - Highways & Streetlighting Location: Oxford Contract: Initial 6-month rolling contract Day Rate: Up to £450 per day (DOE)   The Opportunity We are currently recruiting for an experienced Quantity Surveyor on behalf of our client, who is looking for support on their highways term maintenance and streetlighting contracts. This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially minded Quantity Surveyor to take ownership of key commercial responsibilities, ensuring effective cost management, financial reporting and subcontractor management across ongoing maintenance works.   The successful candidate will ideally have previous experience within the highways or infrastructure sector, alongside a good understanding of NEC contracts.   Key Responsibilities ·Completing and managing regular Cost Value Reconciliations (CVRs). ·Managing subcontractor payments, applications and valuations. ·Reviewing and assessing subcontractor applications to ensure accuracy and contractual compliance. ·Monitoring project costs, budgets and commercial performance. ·Identifying commercial risks and opportunities, reporting these to the wider project team. ·Supporting the financial management of highways term maintenance and streetlighting contracts. ·Ensuring effective commercial controls and processes are maintained. ·Working closely with operational teams and subcontractors to ensure commercial targets are achieved.   Key Requirements ·Proven experience working as a Quantity Surveyor within civil engineering, infrastructure or construction. ·Experience completing CVRs and managing subcontractor payments. ·Ideally, previous experience within highways, highways maintenance or streetlighting. ·Good understanding of NEC forms of contract. ·Strong commercial awareness and financial management skills. ·Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities. ·Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities.   For more information, please click APPLY NOW or call Jay Cochrane today on (phone number removed).   FOOTNOTE:   If you feel that you are right for this role technically, but the rate, location or seniority does not suit you specifically then please still feel free to send us your CV.
