Support Worker Location: Jesmond, Newcastle upon Tyne, NE2 Salary: £26,064–£27,617 per annum Contract: Permanent About the Role We are recruiting a compassionate and enthusiastic Support Worker to join an eight-bed specialist residential service supporting young people aged 17–30 with learning and physical disabilities. You will provide person-centred care, promoting independence, confidence and wellbeing while supporting individuals with daily routines, education and social activities. Key Responsibilities * Provide personal care and daily living support. * Assist with medication, moving and handling, and feeding where required. * Support attendance at school, college and day services. * Encourage independence, social interaction and personal development. * Follow positive behaviour support strategies. * Support individuals with communication difficulties and behaviours that may challenge. * Follow individual care plans and maintain a safe environment. Requirements * Experience supporting young people or individuals with additional needs. * Understanding of positive behaviour support. * Strong communication and teamwork skills. * Caring, patient and resilient attitude. * Flexibility to work split shifts and frequent weekends. * Ability to travel to Jesmond.
