Assistant Accountant required for a client based at Bournemouth Airport Business Park. The company is currently in growth and is looking to recruit an experienced person to support this finance function. You will work closely with both the Transactional Processing team and the Financial Controller to support the growth of the business.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare the monthly management accounts pack, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting
• Complete bank reconciliations and resolve outstanding items
• Process monthly income in line with revenue recognition policies
• Review overhead costs against budget and highlight variances
• Manage accruals, prepayments and associated journals
• Maintain fixed asset records and process depreciation
• Reconcile and control balance sheet accounts
• Support month-end close and financial reporting activities
• Identify and resolve accounting issues proactively
• Provide ad hoc finance support as required

Key skills and experience

• A strong Accounting Technician, Assistant Management Accountant or similar finance professional
• Enjoys producing management accounts and taking ownership of month-end processes
• Confident with reconciliations, journals, accruals, prepayments and balance sheet controls
• Highly organised with excellent attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving
• Comfortable working with finance systems and Excel to analyse and present financial information
• Demonstrable experience of good customer service, including building relationships within a team and external stakeholders
• Intermediate Excel, Xero experience advantageous
• Able to work to deadlines whilst ensuring attention to detail and quality of work
