Are you an experienced Credit Controller looking for your next opportunity within an established international business?

We're recruiting for a Credit Controller to join a global professional services organisation on a 12-month fixed-term contract, covering maternity leave. Based in Horsforth, this is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established finance team, taking responsibility for a portfolio of client accounts and helping drive effective cash collection and debt recovery.

Working closely with internal stakeholders and external clients, you'll play a key role in ensuring invoices are paid within agreed terms, resolving queries and maintaining strong client relationships. This position would suit someone who enjoys a fast-paced environment, takes a proactive approach to credit control and is confident managing their own workload.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage a portfolio of client accounts, proactively chasing outstanding invoices by telephone and email.

  • Monitor aged debt, cash collection and debtor day targets, ensuring payments are received within agreed terms.

  • Investigate and resolve invoice queries and disputes, working collaboratively with clients and internal teams.

  • Maintain accurate records of all credit control activity and ensure accounts are managed in line with company procedures.

  • Complete account reconciliations, support cash postings and manage credit note requests where required.

  • Build strong relationships with clients and internal stakeholders to resolve payment issues and improve cash flow.

  • Identify changes in payment patterns and potential risks, escalating issues and implementing appropriate actions.

  • Manage client billing portals and respond promptly to internal and external enquiries.

  • Provide ad hoc reporting and support the wider finance team as required.

About You

To be successful in this role, you'll ideally have:

  • Previous experience in Credit Control, Sales Ledger or a similar accounts receivable position.

  • A good understanding of credit control processes, debt recovery and account management.

  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills, with the confidence to liaise with stakeholders at all levels.

  • Excellent organisational skills and the ability to prioritise a busy workload.

  • Strong attention to detail, with experience completing account reconciliations and investigating discrepancies.

  • Good Microsoft Excel and general IT skills, with the ability to work across multiple systems.

  • A proactive, solutions-focused approach and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.

What's on Offer?
  • 12-month fixed-term contract covering maternity leave.

  • Hybrid working, with 3 days in the Horsforth office and 2 days from home.

  • The opportunity to join a well-established international professional services organisation.

  • A varied role with responsibility for client accounts and stakeholder relationships.

  • A collaborative finance team and supportive working environment.

  • Salary negotiable depending on experience.
