IT Support Engineer - Vulnerability Remediation – Outside of IR35 – 6-week contract

The Role

An established accountancy firm is looking for a hands-on IT Support Engineer to support a rapidly growing IT function and help remediate vulnerabilities ahead of a Cyber Essentials Plus audit. The role will focus on practical field engineering activity across approximately 15 sites, with the successful Engineer expected to work independently and get on with tasks without requiring close management.

Location: Full-time onsite travelling to multiple sites across South East and West - Home location: Oxford
IR35: Outside IR35
Travel: Expenses covered except travel to Oxford

Technologies/Experience

• Microsoft/Windows desktop environments
• Desktop Support/1st & 2nd Line Support
• Application patching, removal and updates
• Endpoint remediation
• Device replacement and troubleshooting
• Rapid7 - highly desirable

Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on 1st and 2nd line support.
• Remove, patch and update applications on user devices.
• Troubleshoot and remediate endpoint vulnerabilities identified through Rapid7.
• Replace devices and resolve desktop/application issues.
• Travel regularly between sites across the Southeast, including locations as far as Bristol and Norwich.
• Document completed work and provided updates on remediation activity.

The ideal Engineer will be a practical, hands-on doer with strong IT Support experience who can work independently, troubleshoot problems and get things done within tight timescales.
