Accounts Semi Senior

Location: Southend-on-Sea, Essex
Salary: £28,000 - £38,000 (depending on experience)
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent

A well-established and growing accountancy practice in Southend-on-Sea is seeking an ambitious Accounts Semi Senior to join its friendly and professional team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who has gained experience within an accountancy practice and is looking to develop their career in a supportive environment with clear progression opportunities.

The successful candidate will work with a varied portfolio of clients across a range of industries, assisting with the preparation of accounts and providing high-quality support to managers and partners.

Key Responsibilities

• Preparation of year-end accounts for sole traders, partnerships and limited companies
• Assisting with the preparation of management accounts
• Preparing VAT returns and bookkeeping assignments
• Supporting clients with accounting queries and cloud-based software solutions
• Liaising directly with clients to obtain information and resolve queries
• Assisting senior team members with portfolio management and ad hoc projects
• Ensuring work is completed accurately and within agreed deadlines

About You

• Previous experience working within an accountancy practice
• Studying AAT, ACA or ACCA, or qualified by experience
• Strong accounts preparation skills
• Knowledge of bookkeeping and VAT
• Experience using cloud-based accounting software such as Xero, QuickBooks or Sage
• Excellent communication and organisational skills
• A proactive approach and willingness to learn
