Your new company
You will be joining a successful and well-established manufacturing organisation with a strong presence in Dorset. Operating in a fast-paced and technically complex environment, the business is committed to operational excellence, effective inventory management and continuous improvement. You will work in modern, open-plan offices that encourage collaboration across finance and operational teams, with hybrid working.
Your new role
As Finance Business Partner, you will act as a key link between Finance, Operations and Supply Chain, helping leaders understand performance, make informed decisions and drive continuous improvement across the business. This is a highly commercial role where you'll look beyond the numbers, using financial insight to influence operational outcomes and support strategic objectives.
You will take responsibility for monitoring and interpreting operational and inventory performance, ensuring financial information is accurate, timely and meaningful for stakeholders across the organisation. Working closely with managers throughout the business, you'll challenge assumptions, identify opportunities to improve efficiency and provide analysis that supports better decision-making around stock, cost control and overall business performance.
A significant part of the role will involve partnering with operational teams through forecasting, budgeting and long-range planning cycles, helping to translate business activity into robust financial plans. You'll also play an important role in month-end reporting, balance sheet management and maintaining strong financial controls, while supporting the wider finance team with projects and process improvements.
This position would suit someone who enjoys building relationships across a business, is naturally curious about how operations work and wants to use their financial expertise to influence performance rather than simply report on it.
What you'll need to succeed
You will have relevant experience in a manufacturing finance environment, with a good understanding of inventory reporting, standard costing and operational performance. You must be confident working with large and complex data sets, identifying meaningful trends and using your findings to influence decisions across the business.
Experience of using an ERP system is essential, together with strong communication and relationship-building skills. You will be comfortable partnering with non-finance stakeholders, constructively challenging established ways of working and presenting clear financial information at different levels of the organisation.
A CIMA or ACCA qualification would be advantageous, although applications are also welcomed from suitably experienced candidates who are qualified by experience or progressing towards a professional qualification. Previous exposure to Power BI would also be beneficial.
What you'll get in return
You will receive a competitive salary and benefits package while joining a respected manufacturing organisation in a highly visible finance role. You will gain broad exposure across operational finance, build relationships with senior stakeholders and have the opportunity to influence inventory management, operational efficiency and longer-term business planning.
