This is a most responsible Number 1 finance position in this established, highly regarded, privately-owned, specialist design and manufacturing, Birmingham based, SME company.

This broad financial role reports to the Owner/Directors and is a key position with the Senior Management Team. The varied responsibilities will include the preparation of the monthly management accounts, together with commentary and analysis for the Board pack, as well leading the budgeting and forecasting cycles.

You will oversee the finance team of 3 to ensure that transactions are correctly recorded and processed in the ledgers, customers invoiced accurately and credit control is professional. The Head of Finance will also manage external relationships with auditors, tax authorities, bankers/financiers, and insurers.

The successful candidate will most likely be a qualified accountant able to contribute to the strategic growth of the business. You will have a proven track-record of financial leadership roles in SME environments, able to blend 'hands-on' accounting, with commercial acumen, business partnering, and team leadership.
