IT Support Engineer | Hertfordshire area, with occasional UK travel | up to £35,000

Are you an IT Support Engineer who enjoys solving problems properly rather than simply passing tickets to another team?

This permanent opportunity will give you ownership of first- and second-line support across a multisite organisation. You'll work in a modern Microsoft environment covering Microsoft 365, Windows, identity, endpoint management and security.

It's a strong next step for someone who already has solid support experience and wants broader exposure to Intune, Entra ID, Microsoft Defender and cloud technology. You'll join a collaborative IT function where good troubleshooting, clear communication and continuous improvement are valued.

What You'll Do:

  • Provide first- and second-line support for desktops, laptops, mobiles, printers and peripherals.
  • Triage and resolve incidents according to priority and business impact.
  • Support Outlook, Teams, OneDrive, SharePoint and other Microsoft 365 services.
  • Administer users and access through Active Directory and Entra ID.
  • Support MFA, Conditional Access, Intune and Microsoft Defender.
  • Complete joiner, mover and leaver processes.
  • Assist with patching, endpoint compliance and vulnerability remediation.
  • Maintain accurate asset, licence, subscription and telecoms records.
  • Work with senior IT colleagues and external suppliers on more complex incidents.
  • Improve documentation, knowledge articles and support processes.

What You'll Bring:

  • Experience in an IT support, helpdesk or desktop-support role.
  • Strong Windows desktop troubleshooting skills.
  • Practical Microsoft 365 support experience.
  • Working knowledge of Active Directory or Entra ID.
  • Exposure to Microsoft Defender or related endpoint-security tooling.
  • Basic networking knowledge.
  • Strong customer service, communication and troubleshooting skills.
  • Experience supporting remote or multisite users.
  • The ability to travel occasionally within the UK.

Why You Should Apply:

  • Work with a modern Microsoft technology stack.
  • Gain further exposure to cloud identity, endpoint management and security.
  • Take genuine ownership of incidents and user outcomes.
  • Join a collaborative, forward-thinking IT team.
  • Build experience relevant to senior support, infrastructure, cloud or security positions.
