A welcoming and inclusive primary school in Worthing is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant with strong SEN experience to join their supportive team.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is passionate about helping children overcome barriers to learning and achieve their full potential. The successful candidate will work closely with class teachers and the SENCO to support pupils with a range of additional needs, including ASD, ADHD, SEMH, speech and language difficulties, and learning needs.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with SEN.
• Adapt learning activities to meet individual needs.
• Support pupils' social, emotional, and academic development.
• Implement strategies and interventions outlined in EHCPs and support plans.
• Build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents.
• Promote an inclusive and nurturing learning environment.

Essential Requirements:

• Previous experience supporting children with Special Educational Needs within a school, nursery, care, or similar setting.
• A patient, resilient, and empathetic approach.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to build positive relationships and engage pupils effectively.
• Understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures.

Desirable:

• Experience supporting children with Autism (ASD), ADHD, SEMH, or complex needs.
• Relevant qualifications in education, childcare, health & social care, or SEN support.
• Experience delivering interventions or working alongside external professionals.
