Salary: £30,000-37,000
Job Type: Permanent, Full Time
Closing Date: 10th November 2026
About SYNLAB:
Our people support pathology services that matter to patients, clinicians and communities. Your work will help the Internal Communications team connect colleagues across our headquarters and four hospital businesses.
As part of our Marketing & Communications team, you will work alongside specialists in internal, corporate, service-user and social communications. You will support colleagues on a broad mix of activity and gain exposure to senior stakeholders and functions including Operations, IT, Quality, Health and Safety, Finance, People, Learning and Development, Recruitment and scientific development.
You will join us at an important stage in the development of our communications channels, including the launch of a UK&I-wide intranet. You will help deliver these improvements by coordinating activity, creating content, gathering feedback and contributing ideas. You will have the support and direction of experienced colleagues while being trusted to take responsibility for your work and follow tasks through to completion.
About the Role:
Can you turn complex business updates into communications that people genuinely want to read, watch and act on?
We are looking for an experienced Internal Communications Executive to provide creative and practical support to our Internal Communications team. You will help us keep more than 3,000 colleagues across SYNLAB UK&I informed, connected and clear about our strategy, priorities and the part they play in our success.
Working within agreed plans and priorities, you will turn ideas into action by creating audience-focused content, coordinating activity and supporting campaigns across our channels. You will be trusted to manage your own workload, take initiative and keep projects moving, while working closely with the Internal Communications Manager and wider Communications team.
Based at our Blackfriars Hub three days a week, with travel to other SYNLAB businesses across the UK, you will join a collaborative team of nine. If you have relevant experience and want to broaden your skills through varied, hands-on work, this role will give you the opportunity to contribute ideas, support high-profile projects and make a visible difference to how colleagues experience communications.
Working under the direction of the Internal Communications Manager, you will support the planning, coordination and delivery of communications across the organisation.
You will manage the communications calendar, coordinate requests, track actions and approvals, and help ensure timely, well-sequenced communications. Working across multiple priorities, you will create and publish content for the intranet, newsletters, digital signage, town halls, presentations and video, while supporting key employee campaigns and initiatives.
You will also help engage colleagues in laboratory and other non-desk-based roles, gathering feedback and ensuring communications reach all audiences effectively.
