A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Forklift & Production Operative to join a busy food manufacturing and packing operation in East Lothian.

This is a varied role combining forklift duties with supporting the movement, storage and preparation of products throughout the production process. The successful candidate will play an important part in ensuring goods are handled safely, efficiently and in line with quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Operating forklift trucks to move stock, packaging and finished products across site
• Supporting the flow of products between production, storage and dispatch areas
• Assisting with vehicle loading and unloading activities
• Carrying out pre-shift equipment inspections and reporting any issues
• Ensuring materials and products are stored correctly and clearly identified
• Checking orders and stock movements to maintain accuracy
• Supporting stock control activities, including rotation of products
• Removing waste materials and keeping operational areas organised
• Working closely with colleagues across production, warehouse and logistics teams
• Maintaining high standards of food safety, hygiene and health & safety
• Assisting with general site duties as required to support business needs

What We're Looking For

• Previous forklift truck experience
• Valid forklift licence preferred
• Experience within manufacturing, warehouse, food production or logistics environments is advantageous
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality standards
• Reliable and flexible approach to work
• Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a team
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
