  • Pay Rate:£150 – £235 per day (or main/upper pay scale equivalent for contract/permanent roles)
  • Contract Type: Full-time, Long-term / Permanent
  • Setting: Well-established school within a highly supportive community

About the Role

We are an established education recruitment agency seeking an inspiring and proactive Primary SEND Teacher on behalf of one of our partner schools in Peterborough. The position is based within a well-established school deeply rooted within a supportive local community.

This role is specifically designed for an educator passionate about delivering tailored learning experiences to children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD).

Alongside adapting the primary curriculum to suit neurodivergent learners, a core focus of this role is leading and managing a small team of dedicated Teaching Assistants (TAs). Working within a collaborative, community-minded environment, you will guide your classroom team to implement positive behaviour strategies, manage sensory needs, and ensure EHCP targets are seamlessly met.

Key Responsibilities

  • Classroom Leadership: Manage and mentor a small team of 2–4 Teaching Assistants, setting clear daily objectives and deploying staff effectively to provide structured support.
  • Tailored Planning: Design and deliver engaging, highly visual, and structured primary lessons tailored to the attention, communication, and executive functioning needs of pupils with ASD and ADHD.
  • Intervention & Environment: Implement low-arousal environment strategies, visual timetables, and movement breaks to support self-regulation and focus.
  • Community & Collaboration: Maintain strong, positive relationships with parents, families, and external professionals, upholding the school's inclusive community values.

Requirements & Safer Recruitment

As an agency, we are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. All candidates will undergo strict safer recruitment checks prior to placement.

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) in the UK.
  • Leadership Skills: Proven ability or strong potential to lead, motivate, and direct classroom support staff.
  • Specialist Experience: Strong understanding of neurodiversity, positive behaviour management, and evidence-based strategies for supporting children with ASD and ADHD.
  • Compliance Checks: You must possess or be willing to undergo an Enhanced DBS check (on the Update Service), provide a minimum of two professional references covering the last 2 years, and pass all standard right-to-work and barred list checks.

What We Offer

  • Competitive daily rates from £150 to £235, paid weekly via PAYE.
  • A welcoming, community-focused school environment with a highly supportive leadership team.
  • Dedicated support from your personal agency consultant.
