Group Financial Accountant – Fantastic first time mover opportunity
Location: Carlisle – office based
Salary: Circa 60k – relocation package on offer if needed
We are looking for an ACA/ACCA qualified and proactive Group Financial Accountant to join our client’s group finance team. You will play a key role in delivering accurate Group financial reporting, statutory accounts and consolidated financial statements. This is a fantastic move for someone looking for their first role into industry, with the chance to progress and report into a reputable mentor.
Working closely with the Group Finance Director, Group Tax Manager and regional finance teams, you will support financial planning, strengthen controls and drive improvements in systems and processes.
Key responsibilities
Prepare consolidated financial statements, statutory accounts, Board packs and Group performance reports.
Coordinate annual audits and ensure compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements.
Maintain general ledger accounts, balance sheet reconciliations and intercompany reporting.
Support budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management and financial analysis.
Maintain and improve financial systems, reporting tools and internal controls.
Build relationships with internal and external stakeholders, providing clear financial insight to support decision-making.
Support the implementation of new accounting standards and continuous improvement initiatives.
About you
ACA/ACCA qualified
Ideally have knowledge of UK GAAP, FRS 101/102 and consolidation principles.
Knowledge of audit processes, VAT, corporation tax and deferred tax.
Strong Excel skills and experience with ERP and financial reporting systems.
Excellent analytical, communication and organisational skills, with strong attention to detail.
