CNC Programmer

39 Hours working week

Monday to Thursday: 07:30 - 16:30
Friday: 07:30 - 12:30

Elevation Recruitment Group are working with a specialist precision engineering and aerospace manufacturer who are looking to appoint an experienced 5 Axis CNC Programmer to join their team.

This is an excellent opportunity for a time-served programmer with strong offline CAD/CAM experience who enjoys working on complex, high-precision components.

The role

You'll be responsible for developing and refining CNC programmes for complex components, working closely with machining and engineering teams to achieve the best possible combination of quality, efficiency and cycle time.

You'll be involved in:

• Creating and optimising 3-axis and 5-axis CNC programmes
• Programming offline using HyperMill
• Developing machining and tooling strategies for complex components
• Supporting the development of fixtures and work-holding solutions
• Troubleshooting programming and machining issues
• Improving programmes to maximise machine utilisation and reduce cycle times
• Supporting new product introduction and process development
• Working closely with CNC Machinists, Production and Engineering teams
• Maintaining programme records and manufacturing documentation
• Contributing to ongoing process and manufacturing improvements

What we're looking for

You'll need solid experience as a CNC Programmer, with a strong background in offline programming and complex milling.

Ideally, you'll bring:

• Proven 3-axis and 5-axis programming experience
• Strong HyperMill experience
• A good understanding of CNC machining, tooling and cutting strategies
• Experience working with complex components and a range of engineering materials
• Ability to work confidently from engineering drawings and 3D CAD models
• Experience developing tooling, fixtures or work-holding solutions
• Strong problem-solving skills and a practical approach to manufacturing

A background in aerospace or high-precision engineering would be beneficial.
