Robert Half are partnering with a growing financial services organisation based in Abergavenny to recruit an Accounts Assistant. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious finance professional looking to join a stable and supportive business where they can further develop their accounting skills within a busy finance team.

The Role

Reporting into the Finance Manager, the Accounts Assistant will play a key role in supporting the day-to-day financial operations of the business. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, processing transactions, and assisting with month-end activities.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Processing purchase and sales ledger invoices
• Managing supplier payments and reconciliations
• Bank reconciliations and cash posting
• Assisting with credit control activities where required
• Processing employee expenses
• Supporting month-end reporting and account reconciliations
• Maintaining accurate financial records and documentation
• Assisting with ad hoc finance and administrative duties

About You

The ideal candidate will have:

• Previous experience in an Accounts Assistant, Finance Assistant, Accounts Payable or similar finance role
• Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
• Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively
• A proactive attitude and willingness to learn
• AAT studies or qualifications would be advantageous but are not essential
