The Company

A leading global digital media agency is looking for a Media Planning & Data Director to establish and lead a new strategic planning discipline across the UK/EMEA business.

The agency has a strong heritage in performance marketing, spanning paid media, SEO, GEO, data and analytics, alongside a growing brand media offering. Its proprietary technology, AI capabilities and measurement solutions provide a strong data foundation - and this role will be responsible for turning that capability into compelling strategic insight and client recommendations.

The Role

You will become the agency's strategic voice across:

• Establishing a consistent strategic planning framework across client accounts
• Leading strategic thinking for flagship clients from pitch through onboarding and ongoing account development
• Developing a distinctive, data-led audience insight capability
• Turning data and technology into clear commercial and strategic recommendations
• Developing account-level evidence and insight packs rather than relying on ad hoc analysis
• Leading planning and communications thinking, particularly across paid media
• Shaping measurement strategies using existing agency capabilities and external partners
• Elevating the quality of client conversations at monthly, quarterly and annual reviews
• Partnering with Sales and senior leadership to develop compelling, pitch-winning narratives
• Helping evolve the agency proposition from predominantly performance marketing towards a stronger Brand + Performance positioning
• Presenting strategic recommendations confidently to senior client stakeholders, including CMO/CGO level

You

You'll be an experienced strategic planner with genuine data and insight credentials - rather than a data specialist who has moved into planning.

• Strong experience across media planning
• Genuine data fluency and the ability to translate analysis into strategy
• The seniority and credibility to operate as a peer to established functional heads
• Excellent client-facing and presentation skills, including experience with CMO/CGO-level stakeholders
• A commercially minded approach and the ability to connect insight with business outcomes
