Location: Stonehaven, Aberdeenshire Sector: Power & Energy / Civil Engineering Payment: Inside IR35 PAYE / Umbrella Rate: Competitive given IR35 status Start Date: ASAP First Task Professional are currently recruiting for an experienced Freelance Site Engineer to join an established civil engineering contractor on a substation project in Stonehaven, Aberdeenshire. This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer with a strong background in civil engineering, ideally with previous experience working on substations, power infrastructure or other heavy civils projects. Key Responsibilities * Carrying out setting out and surveying for civil engineering works across the substation project. * Setting out foundations, drainage, ducting, cable trenches and associated infrastructure. * Ensuring works are delivered in accordance with engineering drawings and specifications. * Completing QA documentation, inspections and maintaining accurate site records. * Liaising with Site Managers, subcontractors and the wider engineering team. * Assisting with technical queries and resolving engineering issues on site. * Ensuring all works comply with site health and safety requirements. Requirements * Previous experience as a Site Engineer on civil engineering projects. * Substation, power transmission or energy infrastructure experience advantageous. * Proficient in setting out using robotic total stations and GPS equipment. * Ability to read and interpret technical drawings. * Previous experience working on reinforced concrete foundations, drainage and ducting desirable.
