SEMH & Behaviour Support Teaching Assistant - Doncaster

Reed Education are seeking a resilient and experienced SEMH Teaching Assistant to support pupils with social, emotional, and mental health needs within a specialist educational setting in Doncaster.

This role would suit someone who understands the challenges that children face and can combine empathy, patience, and consistency with strong behaviour management skills and clear boundaries.

The Role:

• Supporting pupils with SEMH and behavioural needs
• Building positive relationships that promote trust and engagement
• Managing challenging behaviours in a calm and professional manner
• Supporting pupils both in and out of the classroom
• Helping students access learning and achieve positive outcomes
• Working alongside teachers and pastoral teams to implement strategies and interventions

What We're Looking For:

• Previous experience supporting pupils with SEMH and behavioural needs
• Strong behaviour management skills
• Good understanding of trauma-informed practice
• Ability to remain calm under pressure
• A patient, resilient and empathetic approach
• Understanding that behaviour is communication, whilst maintaining clear and consistent boundaries
• Experience within schools, alternative provisions, care settings, youth work, or similar environments
