I’m recruiting for a growing international business that is building out its UK operation and now wants to bring greater ownership of finance in-house.
This is a broad, hands-on Finance Manager role reporting directly to the UK Managing Director. You’ll take responsibility for the day-to-day finance function, improve the quality of reporting and controls, and help establish processes that will support the business as it grows.
You’ll initially work with a Finance Assistant and external accountants, so this will suit someone comfortable operating at both ends of the spectrum: preparing and reviewing the numbers, but also working closely with senior management and non-finance colleagues.
The role
Responsibilities will include:
*
Taking ownership of month-end and year-end processes
*
Producing monthly management accounts and useful commentary
*
Managing cash flow, working capital and short-term forecasting
*
Preparing budgets, forecasts and variance analysis
*
Overseeing VAT, statutory reporting and audit requirements
*
Strengthening financial controls, approval processes and reporting
*
Managing and developing the Finance Assistant
*
Overseeing accounts payable, accounts receivable and payroll
*
Working with external accountants as finance activity is brought in-house
*
Supporting the Managing Director with commercial analysis and decision-making
*
Liaising with finance colleagues across the wider international group
*
Helping the business make better use of Microsoft Dynamics as it develops its systems and processes
What they’re looking for
You’ll ideally be:
*
ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified
*
An experienced Finance Manager, Financial Controller or strong Management Accountant ready to step up
*
Hands-on across management accounts, cash flow, budgeting and financial control
*
Comfortable working within a growing business where processes are still developing
*
Experienced in Microsoft Dynamics, ideally with at least a year’s practical exposure
*
Confident working with senior stakeholders and explaining finance to non-finance colleagues
*
Approachable, collaborative and able to communicate clearly and concisely
*
Happy working predominantly from the Watford office
You do not need to have led a full Dynamics implementation. A sound working knowledge of the system and an understanding of how it supports finance processes will be sufficient.
Immediate availability would be helpful, but the business is prepared to wait for the right person.
This is a good opportunity for someone who enjoys being close to the business, taking ownership and helping shape a finance function rather than simply inheriting a finished one.
