Practice Accountant

Location: Palmers Green, North London

Salary: £33,000–£36,000 per annum

Working arrangement: Office-based initially

We are recruiting on behalf of an established accountancy practice in Palmers Green, North London, with a team of approximately 20 staff.

Our client is looking for a Practice Accountant with around 2–3 years' experience to join their team.

The role offers the opportunity to gain experience across a broad range of accounting and taxation work, working with a varied client base and alongside experienced colleagues.

One of the advantages of working in a smaller practice is the opportunity to become involved in different aspects of client work, rather than being restricted to one particular area of accountancy.

The Role

Responsibilities will include:

• Preparing accounts for limited companies, sole traders and partnerships
• Assisting with corporation tax and personal tax returns
• Preparing VAT returns
• Bookkeeping and management accounts work
• Liaising with clients and responding to queries
• Supporting senior colleagues with a range of client assignments

About You

We are looking for someone with:

• Approximately 2–3 years' experience working within an accountancy practice
• A relevant accounting qualification, such as AAT Level 4 or part-qualified ACA/ACCA status
• Practical experience of accounts preparation
• Good organisational skills and attention to detail
• Strong communication skills and a professional approach
• An interest in broadening their experience across different areas of practice work

Candidates do not need to be actively studying towards further qualifications.

The position will initially be office-based, although there may be scope for some flexibility once established in the role.

Salary: £33,000–£36,000 per annum, depending on experience.

Hours: - Monday -Friday 9am - 5.30 pm
