About the Role
A well-established SME organisation based in the Oldham area is looking to recruit an Assistant Accountant to join its finance team. This is a varied, hands-on accounting position that would suit someone who enjoys taking ownership of the day-to-day accounts while developing further exposure to month-end accounting.

What You'll Be Doing
You will be responsible for the day-to-day running of both accounts payable and accounts receivable, ensuring transactions are processed accurately and efficiently. You will complete regular bank reconciliations, maintain the accounting ledgers and support the closure of the ledgers through to trial balance.Working with the Finance Manager, you will assist with month-end processes and provide support with the preparation of management accounts. Previous experience of managing accounts would therefore be an advantage, although this could also be a good opportunity for someone looking to gain greater exposure in this area.

About You
You will have previous experience working in a busy, hands-on finance role and be confident managing transactional accounting duties independently. A good understanding of reconciliations and ledgers, with strong attention to detail and the ability to work to deadlines would be preferred.This role would suit an experienced Accounts Assistant, Assistant Accountant, Bookkeeper or similar finance professional who is comfortable working within an SME environment and would like to broaden their accounting experience.
