Our Offer to You
About The Role
As a Missing and EFH Co-ordinator, you will play a key role in supporting the safeguarding of children and young people who are reported missing. Your day-to-day work will involve coordinating information from a range of partner agencies, monitoring missing episodes, identifying patterns, risks and emerging concerns, and ensuring that appropriate interventions are implemented.
You will work closely with Children's Services, Surrey Police, education providers, health partners and commissioned services to support effective multi-agency responses. Responsibilities include reviewing missing episodes and return home interview information, maintaining accurate records and performance data, preparing reports, supporting meetings and panels, and escalating safeguarding concerns where necessary.
The role requires strong analytical and organisational skills, as you will be responsible for tracking outcomes, identifying opportunities to reduce missing incidents, and contributing to the development of strategies that improve the safety and wellbeing of vulnerable children and young people. You will balance routine monitoring and reporting responsibilities with responding to emerging risks and supporting wider safeguarding initiatives across East Surrey, to strengthen the local response to children and young people who go missing, working alongside the Central Hubs oversight of Risk and Vulnerability Management and the timeliness of Safer Plans.
Your priorities will include improving the identification of risk and vulnerability, enhancing multi-agency information sharing, and ensuring that intelligence from missing episodes and return home interviews is effectively used to reduce future incidents.
You will contribute to the development of performance reporting and analysis, helping to identify trends, hotspots and emerging risks, whilst supporting with the implementation of wider service improvement initiatives, strategies and action plans aimed at reducing repeat missing episodes, disrupting exploitation, and improving outcomes for vulnerable children and young people. The opportunity to directly contribute to reducing harm, preventing exploitation, and improving outcomes for vulnerable young people is significant.
You will play an influential role in shaping local practice by using data, intelligence and professional insight to identify trends and recommend improvements to service delivery. Your work will help strengthen partnerships across Children's Services, Surrey Police, health, education and community organisations, ensuring that children receive timely, coordinated and effective support where safeguarding responses remain child-centred, effective and responsive to changing needs.
