Account Executive - Customer Retention & Growth Northampton | £26,000 Basic | £40,000+ OTE | Monday-Friday | Great with customers? Love building relationships? Looking for a role where your personality, communication skills and drive can translate into excellent earning potential? We're recruiting Account Executives for a rapidly growing, £1.5 billion turnover business operating across the utilities and business services sector. Based in their new, large Northampton offices, you'll join an established and expanding team, working with business customers to help them manage their essential utility services.

This isn't traditional cold-call telesales. You'll have access to an extensive customer database and your own portfolio of business accounts, with opportunities to build relationships, retain customers, secure renewals and introduce additional products and services. It's a proactive, target-driven sales role, but with a real focus on customer relationships rather than simply making cold calls.

What will you be doing?

• Building relationships with existing business customers
• Managing customer renewals and helping retain existing business
• Identifying opportunities to upsell and cross-sell additional services
• Reconnecting with previous customers and developing new business opportunities
• Engaging customers through telephone calls, email and WhatsApp
• Understanding customer needs and recommending suitable solutions
• Managing your own customer portfolio and keeping CRM records up to date
• Working towards individual and team sales, retention and customer service targets

What are we looking for?

We're open-minded about your background. You don't necessarily need experience in utilities or even a traditional sales role.

You might currently work in:

• Customer service or customer account management
• Contact centres or telephone-based customer support
• Customer retention, renewals or complaints handling
• Retail or hospitality
• Telesales, inside sales or B2B sales

What matters most is your ability to engage customers, build rapport and recognise opportunities.

You'll be someone who:

• Is confident, personable and enjoys talking to people
• Has excellent communication and listening skills
• Can handle objections and difficult conversations professionally
