Are you an experienced Key Account Manager with a strong background in manufacturing or industrial sales? Do you enjoy building long-term customer relationships while still having the opportunity to develop new business?

We’re recruiting for an established UK manufacturer looking for a commercially driven Key Account Manager to manage and grow a portfolio of longstanding customers across the UK, Ireland and Europe.

This is predominantly an account management role, with an 80% existing business / 20% new business split, making it ideal for someone who thrives on developing relationships, spotting commercial opportunities and increasing revenue within established accounts.

The Role

Reporting to the Commercial Director, you will take ownership of key customer relationships, primarily across the agricultural, fabrication and construction sectors.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Managing and developing key accounts across the UK, Ireland and Europe
• Building strong relationships with key decision-makers
• Identifying opportunities to increase revenue through upselling and cross-selling
• Conducting regular customer visits and business reviews
• Generating new customers and revenue streams
• Developing distributor relationships across different market sectors
• Identifying new markets, applications and commercial opportunities
• Managing pricing discussions, negotiations and contract renewals
• Delivering agreed sales targets and budgets
• Producing accurate sales forecasts and monthly reports
• Maintaining customer activity, opportunities and pipelines through the CRM system
• Working closely with Commercial, Operations and Engineering teams

Travel

This is an office-based, customer-facing role with approximately 75% of activity across the UK & Ireland and 25% within Europe.

You’ll typically spend a minimum of 3 days per week visiting customers, with overnight stays required. You will also need to attend meetings at the company's Liverpool-area office when required.

About You

We’re looking for someone with:

• Proven experience in a Key Account Manager or similar B2B sales role
• A strong track record of managing and growing existing accounts
• Experience winning new business and cold calling
• Experience developing distributors or customer networks
• Previous experience within an SME manufacturing environment
• Strong commercial, negotiation and analytical skills
• Excellent communication and presentation skills
• A proactive, self-motivated approach and genuine passion for sales
• Confidence using Microsoft Office and CRM systems
• A full driving licence and willingness to travel throughout the UK and Europe
• Ideally, a home location within approximately 3 hours of Liverpool

Experience within plastics, construction products, agriculture, fabrication or industrial manufacturing would be advantageous, as would European language skills.
